Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our tour guide. Your journey begins with a scenic drive to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. En route, pass through Chunzom, the confluence of the Paro River (Pachu) and Thimphu River (Wangchu)—a symbolic gateway connecting two of Bhutan’s main valleys.

As you continue along the Wangchu River, enjoy picturesque countryside views, traditional houses, and beautiful landscapes before reaching Thimphu.

Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax  after your long journey.

Afterwards, take a 15-minute drive to the Takin Preserve, home to Bhutan’s national animal – the Takin, a gentle creature found only in the Eastern Himalayas. The preserve provides a natural habitat where visitors can observe these unique goat-antelope-like animals in a serene forest setting.

From the Takin Preserve, take a short five-minute drive to Sangaygang (BBS Tower), where you’ll begin a scenic one-hour hike to Wangditse Lhakhang (Monastery). The trail gently winds through lush forested hills, accompanied by the soothing sound of chirping birds. After visiting Wangditse Goenpa, descend on a tranquil 30-minute walk to Dechenphodrang Monastic School, peacefully nestled on the hillside.

At 5:00 pm watch the National Flag Lowering Ceremony at Tashichhoe Dzong, a fortress of the glorious religion. It was built in 1641 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and was reconstructed into present structure by the late King, His majesty Jigme Dorji Wangchuck in the year 1962-1969. It houses the secretariat building, the throne room and the office of the king, and the central monk body.

The journey takes you through the serene countryside of Begana village, offering glimpses of traditional Bhutanese rural life.

The hike to Tango Monastery begins at the end of the motorable road, where a well-maintained trail ascends through a lush forest of oak, pine, and rhododendron trees which will be in full bloom by March end. As you follow the zigzagging path, you’ll be immersed in the natural beauty of the Jigme Dorji Wangchuck National Park, Bhutan’s second-largest national park. During your visit, take the opportunity to interact with the resident monks, gaining insights into their daily practices and the monastery’s role in Bhutanese Buddhism. After soaking in the tranquility and spiritual ambiance, begin your descent back to the base, retracing your steps through the verdant forest.

You’ll have the opportunity to observe the daily life of monks, interact with them, and take photos together.

Next, head to Gagyel Lhundrup Weaving Center, where skilled women bring Bhutanese textile traditions to life. Watch as they meticulously weave intricate patterns using vibrant silk and cotton threads.
